Updates to Health and Safety Protocols at SAP Center Starting April 2
Sharks Sports & Entertainment (SSE) has announced updates to its guest attendance policy for SAP Center at San Jose (@SAPCenter), in accordance with the recent health and safety directives specified by the State of California.
Effective Sat., April 2, 2022, when the San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) host the Dallas Stars at 7:30 p.m., the following guidelines will be in place for all guests attending events at SAP Center:
- All entry restrictions at SAP Center will be lifted. Proof of vaccination or negative test will no longer be required for entry.
- Note: certain event promoters may choose to implement restrictions at SAP Center; we will communicate with ticketholders in advance, as applicable.
These new guidelines align with the State of California’s recommendations for mega-events, which are defined as indoor events with 1,000 or more people or outdoor events with 10,000 or more people.
While State, County, and City directives are being relaxed, SSE encourages all guests to get vaccinated and will continue to implement safety precautions at SAP Center. In April, 2021, SAP Center received the Global Biorisk Advisory Council's (GBAC) STAR Facility Accreditation. The enhanced cleaning measures that earned SAP Center this designation will continue. Additionally, SAP Center will continue to provide hand sanitation stations throughout the venue, maintain a contactless experience for guests through an enhanced mobile experience, and provide reverse ATM’s allowing guests to convert cash into a debit card that can be used for the purchase of merchandise, food, and beverages.
Additionally, in the summer of 2020, SSE installed new state-of-the-art mechanical heating, ventilation, and cooling systems at SAP Center with customer safety and comfort as a priority. The Building Management System controls and monitors each zone of SAP Center and can be programmed to utilize 100% outside air exchange rate in all zones – both meeting and exceeding all current Center for Disease Control (CDC) and ASHRAE recommendations.
