Updates to Health and Safety Protocols at SAP Center Starting March 2
SAN JOSE, Calif. - Sharks Sports & Entertainment (SSE) has announced updates to its guest attendance policy for SAP Center at San Jose (@SAPCenter), in accordance with the recent health and safety directive changes specified by the State of California, County of Santa Clara and City of San Jose.
Effective today, Wed., March 2, 2022, the following guidelines are in place for guests attending events at SAP Center:
- All guests aged two and older who visit SAP Center at San Jose for live events must be fully vaccinated or show proof of a negative COVID-19 test prior to admittance. To be considered fully vaccinated, two weeks must have passed from the second COVID-19 dose of Pfizer or Moderna, or the single dose of Johnson and Johnson.
- The City of San Jose has revoked the mandate stating that all guests to public-owned facilities must also have received the COVID-19 booster vaccination.
- If guests provide test results for entry, the test must have been conducted in the last:
- 1 day for an antigen test, or
- 2 days for a PCR test.
- Acceptable forms or proof of a negative Covid-19 test results includes a physical or digital negative COVID-19 test result that shows the name of the person taking the test and the date administered.
The County of Santa Clara announced on March 1 that while facemasks are still recommended at indoor facilities, they are no longer required.
These new guidelines align with the State of California’s requirements and recommendations for mega-events, which are defined as indoor events with 1,000 or more people or outdoor events with 10,000 or more people.
PROOF OF VACCINATION:
SSE has partnered with CLEAR and their Health Pass technology to provide guests with a seamless and convenient process to show proof of full vaccination. For full details on current safety protocols and seamless vaccine and/or test result verification via CLEAR’s Health Pass, please visit www.sapcenter.com/vaccination. Full details on current safety guidelines can be found at sapcenter.com/safety.
For purposes of CLEAR, based on current health directives, guests of SAP Center are organized into four groups:
All guests aged 14 and over: Each guest may create a CLEAR Health Pass account and add their proof of vaccination. If a minor does not have a mobile device capable of accessing CLEAR, that minor’s adult or guardian will be required to provide physical proof of the minor’s vaccination status at the facility. Acceptable forms of proof of vaccination include a physical CDC vaccination card or a Digital Vaccine Record, which can be found at myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov.
All guests aged 12 and 13: Due to current best practices, CLEAR does not provide a Health Pass for 12 and 13-year-olds. Thus, adults or guardians with minors that are 12 or 13 years old will be required to provide physical proof of the minor’s vaccination status at the facility. Acceptable forms of proof of vaccination include a physical CDC vaccination card or a Digital Vaccine Record, which can be found at myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov.
All guests ages 2-11: Acceptable forms of proof of vaccination include a physical CDC vaccination card or a Digital Vaccine Record which can be found at myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov.
All guests under 2: Currently, there are no requirements related to vaccination status and/or proof of a negative COVID-19 test for guests ages 2 and under.
Guests are encouraged to create a CLEAR Health Pass at least 24 hours prior to the event they will be attending at SAP Center at San Jose.
